Is it obvious that I'm a wine lover? I really struggled with what to create for this project because it took me forever to figure out how to create something other than a blob with the pen tool. Once I figured out the pen tool I used it to create the bottle and I then used the fill tool to fill it with a wine color. The wine label is an object drawing and the table behind everything is my merge drawing. I need to work with the merge drawing tool a little more to get really comfortable with it to figure out when it will and won't interact with everything else I've created. I used the line tool to create most of the glasses, the base of the glasses were object drawing. I used the primitive oval to create the grapes. Creating the leaves gave me the chance to use the free transform tool which I also used to create the vines. The brush tool was used to create the little vines around the leaves. The stem of the grapes was created with the pencil tool. For both the pencil and the brush tool I used very thin line settings and I wanted the vines to match the stem so I used the eyedropper tool to make sure they matched perfectly. Both the wine label and the glasses have a gradient. I found the subselect tool very helpful in fixing the shape of the wine bottle.

Through the course of creating this project I've learned that I really prefer to use object drawing mode for almost anything that requires me to make a shape. It's very easy to edit and I feel like it gives me more control. The primitive tool is great when there isn't a lot of editing needed, like creating a circle to look like a grape. It's pretty basic. As for merge drawing, it's really interesting the things you can do with this tool but I didn't really find a good use for it in this project. I really need to apply it to layers so that I can better control what it does and doesn't interact with. It's been frustrating and fun figuring this out. I think I'll celebrate completing my 1st project with a delicious glass of wine tonight. Cheers!
